Austin participated in the New York City Half Marathon on March 17, 2013. Plans for the Boston Marathon were squashed when there were no more entries available when he tried to register. Austin participated in the Cleveland Marathon on May 19, 2013. Austin suffered a hip injury during the race that started in March of the same year.

Future running plans include the Boston Marathon on April 21, 2014. Still working on getting the hip stronger so he can run. He is almost there!

Eagle Scout

Austin started in Tiger Cubs at age 5. He progressed through Bob Cat, Wolf Cub, Bear Cub, Weblo 1 & 2. Next he progressed through the Arrow of Light Ceremony to become a full fledged Boy Scout. Austin worked through all of the ranks of scouting finally culminating in his acheiving the ultimate rank of Eagle Scout.

Every Eagle Scout completes a service project as part of his requirement to earn his prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. Austin was no different and his project involved his church. Austin came up with a plan to build a new storage structure on the church property. He owned the project from start to finish and you can see the results of his hard work as you drive down Main Street in Peninsula, Ohio!

Work Experience

Austin has been so dedicated and focused on his high school cross country and training for marathons that there has been little other time for outside work to make sure he keeps up with his studying and school work.
